Rumpel Ridge Preschool + Academy serves children from ages 2 ½ (30 months) to 7 years old. Our curriculum is designed to support the unique developmental needs of each age group, fostering growth in key areas like language, social skills, motor development, and early cognitive skills.
Rumpel Ridge Preschool operates on a full-day schedule, with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We also offer extended care from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM for an additional fee. Our facility opens at 7:30 AM, providing flexibility for families needing early drop-off.
No, we do not provide meals and snacks but we do have cooking classes where students participate in baking and cooking food items that we provide.
At Rumpel Ridge Preschool, we believe in a play-based, child-centered approach that fosters curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional growth. Our curriculum integrates activities in art, science, language, and physical development to engage children in hands-on learning. For our pre-kindergarten classroom, we also incorporate teacher-led instruction to provide a balance of guided learning and independent exploration, ensuring that each child’s needs are met and their potential is nurtured.
At Rumpel Ridge Preschool, we prioritize the safety of our students by conducting monthly fire drills and tornado drills, in addition to lock-out, lock-down, and active shooter drills. Our staff is trained in CPR and First Aid, and we have secure entry points and strict security protocols in place. These regular drills help ensure that both staff and students are well-prepared for any emergency situation, promoting a safe and secure environment for all.
We believe in providing a loving, professional, and team-oriented approach to early childhood education. By maintaining small class sizes, we ensure that each child receives the personalized attention they deserve, fostering a high-quality, nurturing, and safe environment. Our pre-kindergarten classroom is home to 21 children, supported by 3 dedicated teachers, allowing for a low teacher-to-child ratio that promotes individualized learning. In our preschool classroom, we have 16 children with 2 teachers, maintaining a ratio of 1 teacher to 8 children to ensure each child’s unique needs are met. This thoughtful approach helps create a warm, engaging space where every child can thrive, feel valued, and develop to their fullest potential with the care and support of our dedicated preschool team.

Absolutely! Outdoor play and nature exploration are key components of our daily routine. We believe that time spent outdoors is vital for children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our safe, well-equipped playground offers plenty of space for active play, and we also take regular walks around our campus, encouraging children to explore nature and observe the world around them. Each day, we ensure that children spend at least one hour outside, unless temperatures fall below 20 degrees, in which case we provide indoor activities to work on gross motor skills. Outdoor recess and exploration are essential to our program, helping children strengthen their large muscles, develop social skills, and connect with the natural environment.

Additionally, during the summer months, we spend over 3 hours outdoors each day, offering a variety of engaging activities that allow children to explore, and play.

Yes, we offer a quiet, relaxing nap time after lunch. Each child has their own cot, and families provide the necessary sleeping items, including a cot cover and blanket.
